This beautiful Kashmiri silk carpet/rug is a testament to the tribal weavers of Central Asia. Master weaver Ghulam Moihideen Kumar has moved away from designs which are inspired by floral Persian counterparts and has drawn inspiration from a Sarouk Turkmen tribal design carpet/rug. The red field of the carpet/rug can brighten up any room. The motifs on the carpet/rug are very geometric where a Sarouki Gul is repeated throughout the carpet/rug in a very linear manner. The vibrant yet royal red coloured border is a traditional Ersari design. The other colours include beige, tan and grey. This an extremely high knot density silk on silk carpet/rug where the pile and warp are made of very fine mulberry silk.
