This magnificent silk carpet was made in Kashmir, India. It has a large round central medallion that represents a dome. Surrounding this there are straight likes that move outward, these represents pillars of a building. There are two chandeliers hanging from opposite sides of the pillars. Off white, orange, dark blue, gold and green are the dominant colours. It is a silk on silk carpet/rug which means that both the warp and pile is made of silk. The carpet has a high knot count.
