This beautiful Kashmiri silk carpet/rug has an all over pattern. Iris, peony and palmette motifs are spread throughout the field of the carpet. Each of these motifs are connected to each other by scrolling vines. This gives the carpet a very linear appearance. The border has alternating palmette and rose motifs connected to each other by scrolling vines. The primary colours used on the carpet are maroon, white, sea green, peach and blue. It is a silk on cotton carpet which means that the pile is made of silk and the warp is made of cotton.
