This magnificent silk carpet was made in Kashmir, India. It has a large round central medallion that represents a dome. Surrounding this the field is spread with small rose motifs connected by curling vines. Off white, blue, green and peach are the dominant colours. It is a silk on silk carpet/rug which means that both the warp and pile is made of silk. The carpet has a high knot count.
