What makes this Tibetan carpet/rug unique is that there are actually two runners merged into one at the centre. Tibetan carpets/rugs use a knotting method different from any other from across the globe. This is an antique carpet/rug that dates back to the early 1900's from the land of Tibet itself. The design shows a floral pattern that mimics the depiction of dragons- the saviour of the Tibetan people. The colours of red, blue, green, yellow and white make this piece more vibrant and depict how the ancient Tibetan craftsmen loved colour back then as well. It is a wool on cotton hand made carpet/rug where traditional dyes used to make it include rumen leaves, tea leaves etc.
