This Kilim was by Balouch weavers in Afghanistan during the year 1990 which makes it approximatley 30 years old. The Kilim has a unique structure where the wefts are used as design elements and not just for structural purposes. This type of Kilim is called a Soumak Kilim. Soumak Kilims are genrally superior in construction when compared to other types of Kilims. It has multiple borders with a square field at the centre with a variation of the traditional Boteh motif. The colours mainly include green, grey, tan, brick and pink.
