This is a rug made by the Aimaq tribe of Afghanistan. Often referred to as 3D rugs as it is a combination of piled and flat weave carpet. The design is geometric in nature with diamond shaped baklava motifs that are spread throughout the rug.The colours include blue, red, white and black. Both the Warp,Weft and the Pile are made from locally sourced wool which are dyed using natural materials. This beautiful carpet/rug is a great addition to a modern or traditional decor.
