This is an antique tribal kilim made by the Qashqai at around circa 1920. This particular kilim is a slit weave kilim where two weft yarns are woven with the warp yarns creating a clear line between the different colours. It is an extremely tightly woven rug. Both the Warp,Weft and the Pile are made from locally sourced wool which are dyed using natural materials. Colours include mainly red,green,grey,beige,orange,rust and purple.
