This rug/carpet has been made with excess saree silk. It is inspired by the designs from block printing which originated in China and is popular in East Asia. Block prints are essentially designs carved on wood and dipped in ink. They are used to imprint the designs on textiles and paper. The colours mainly include pink, grey and beige.
