This carpet/rug was made in the Zanjan province of Iran. The weaving techniques are similar to that of Hamdan. A concentric hexagonal medallion with three layers adorns a major portion of the field which has blue, white and orange. Inside this there are abstract drawings of animals and flowers the rest of the field is filled with other animal motifs that are similar to the Khamseh and Afshar tribal carpets/rugs. The wool used in the carpet/rug is dense and extremely durable while the colours are soft and plenty. The carpet/rug will add a quirky and rustic look to any decor.
