This old world Turkoman carpet/rug was made in circa 1920. It was probably made by the Suleimani, a sub tribe of the Ersari. It has gols that are placed in series one afte the other through the length of the runner carpet/rug with an intricate multi border design. The wool used in the carpet/rug is extremely soft and has a slight lustre to it. The dyes used in the carpet/rug are all naturally obtiained and produced locally by the nomadic tribe. The main colours include deep red, rust and black. The Socio-Ethnographic conditions that existed at the time of making this are non existant today, making these extremely rare and sought after carpets/rugs.
