This is an atique Turkoman rug made by the Ersari in the Shiberghan region of Afghanistan. It was made in and around Circa 1920 by the tribals. The unique feature of this rug is that it contains only a single style of motif as opossed to the standard practice of a larger and smaller one. Extremely fine wool with high quality vegetable dyes have been used to make this carpet. The carpet is in perfect condition.
A carpet of this age, quality and condition is a rare find and can make part of a great collection.
