This is a beautiful and unique rug made by the Sulaimani Baloch tribe in Iran. It has two quadrangular medallions in the field of the rug with stylized floral and geometrical motifs spread through the carpet. The border has the typical baloch wave or hooked pattern runnig through it. It is made of extremely soft and lustrous wool from the region with exqusite vegetable dyes. The selvages of the carpet are bound with a mix of sheep hair and wool. The colours used on the rug are light blue,dark blue, light green, dark green, sea green, red, brown, yellow, orange, pink and beige.
Amongst Baloch rugs this is a must have and unique piece.
