In the Tibetan culture, the dragon is symbol of protection. In this traditional Tibetan rug/carpet, the main motif is a dragon. The stylised oriental version of the dragon is used to form two medallions on a plain field which helps bring out the colours- red, beige and tan. The border too has the same motif depicting the strong and deep rooted Tibetan belief in the protector- the dragon. It is an extremely durable wool on cotton carpet/rug which can also be used as a wall hanging.
