This carpet/rug was made by the Turkoman of Afghanistan. It was made approximately 30 years ago. The main motif of the carpet/rug is similar to the Salor motif of the Turkoman. It is placed in an orderly fashion on the red field of the rug/carpet. The border borrows its motif from the Yomut Turkoman tribe. The colours used in the rug are blue, beige, brown, green and deep red. The wool used in the carpet/rug is locally procured hand spun wool that is soft and dense. It will look particularly great on wooden flooring.
