This carpet/rug was made by the Turkoman of Afghanistan. It was made approximately 40 years ago. The main motif of the carpet/rug is similar to the Salor motif of the Turkoman. It is enlarged and placed in an orderly fashion on the green field of the carpet. The dark green used in the carpet/rug is very rare. Other colours include brown, black and rust. The wool used in the rug is locally procured hand spun wool that is soft and dense while the dyes are naturally obtained. It is an extremely chic carpet/rug that will add a zest of style to any room.
