This is a stunning contemporary kilim made in Herat, Afghanistan. The pattern of this kilim has been inspired by Oushak rugs from Turkey. It has an off centre design with floral motfs. The motifs are very angular in nature giving it a very distict look. This is a soumak kilim which is a weft based construction. This makes the kilim very strong and durable. The kilim uses fine wool and good quality dyes.
