This rustic carpet/rug was made in the Indian city of Agra during Circa 1920. Agra is one of the famous weaving centres set up by the Mughal Empire. The workmanship of this rug/carpet is reminiscent of the workshops that existed during that era. Typical of carpets/rugs made in Agra, it is very stylized and has a slight geometric character to it. It has an 8 point star medallion a the centre with a few motifs spread on a relativley empty field, the border is an extension of this with large stylied motifs. The carpet/rug boasts colours of rust, beige, black and brick red. The pile of the rug is wool and the base is cotton. This carpet/rug is readily available to ship.
