A one of its kind carpet made in Shirvan region in Azerbaijan. It was made by the tribal people of the Southern Caucasus during the last quarter of the 19th century, making this more than a 120 years old. The carpet is in German condition and has wool warp and knots. The colours used are fine natural dyes sourced by the tribal people. The main motif of the rug is an archaic arhitectural motif that is repeated through the field of the rug, the border has the typical wine glass and leaf motif along with a variation of the barber pole motif. The colours used on the rug are red, blue, green, orange and black.
