A stunning and extremely rare kilim made during the early 1900s by the Qashqai of Iran. Along with the Caucasian rugs they are the most sought after Tribal rugs in the world. This type of Kilim is called a Soumak Kilim. Soumak Kilims are generally superior in construction when compared to other types of Kilims.Colours include red,black,blue-grey and white. The Socio-Ethnographic conditions that existed at the time of making this are non existent today. These are extremely rare and sought after carpets/rugs.
