An evolution of the traditional Mina-Khani design, this carpet/rug was made in Aqcha city of Afghanistan by the Balochi people. It was made in circa 1980 with sheep wool and organic dyes which was a practice of the Balochi people then. The border has the geomtric varion of a leaf motif that is repeated through the carpet/rug. The wool used in the rug is very soft and lustrous while the natural dyes add a unique blend of colour namely violet, orange-pink, brown and black. An extremely beautiful and durable woollen rug/carpet.
