A beautiful rug made by the Taimani tribe of Central Afghanistan during the 1970s which makes it approximately 50 years old. The motifs used in the carpet/rug are very stylized versions of a star, boteh and an intricate samovar. The pile and flat weave mixture is a signature of the Barjesta carpets/rugs. Both the Warp,Weft and the Pile are made from locally sourced wool which are made from natural dyes. Colours include mainly red, beige, orange and blue. As is the case with other tribal carpets/rugs, it is an extremely rare piece of art. This beautiful carpet/rug is a great addition to a modern or traditional decor.
