A beautiful rug made by the Taimani tribe of Central Afghanistan during the 1960s which makes it approximately 60 years old. The motifs used in the carpet/rug are very stylized and geometric in nature. The unique feature of the rug/carpet is that the design draws inspiration from the Turkoman Ersari/Ensi design which is also referred to as Pardah, this design is popular in a piled rug and not a Kilim. Both the Warp,Weft and the Pile are made from locally sourced wool which are made from natural dyes. Colours include mainly red, beige, pink/grey and blue. As is the case with other tribal carpets/rugs, it is an extremely rare piece of art. This beautiful carpet/rug is a great addition to a modern or traditional decor.
