The Taimani tribe of central Afghanistan have woven this rustic Barjesta carpet/rug. It was made in Circa 1970 which makes it approxiately 50 years old. The motifs used in the carpet/rug are very stylized which makes the floral designs slightly geometric. This is a signature of the Barjesta carpets/rugs. The wool used in the carpet/rug is locally sourced and the dyes are naturally obtained. Colours include mainly brick, beige, rust and blue. As is the case with other tribal carpets/rugs, it is an extremely rare piece of art.
