This is a stunning and extremely rare kilim made during circa 1940 by the ersari tribe. The field has two linear motifs running across three times each. The Kilim has a unique structure where the wefts are used as design elements and not just for structural purposes. This type of Kilim is called a Soumak Kilim. Soumak Kilims are generally superior in construction when compared to other types of Kilims.Colours include red, black, blue and white. The Socio-Ethnographic conditions that existed at the time of making this are non existent today. These are extremely rare and sought after carpets/rugs
