A particularly well made Baluchi oriental style woollen carpet/rug made by the tribals of northern Afghanistan. Three vases are placed through the centre of the rug and the field is surrounded by stylised Cyprus motifs. The highlight of this carpet/rug is the border which is large and uniform. It is a masterpiece that is made with fantastic hand spun wool and vegetable dyes. Another unique feature is the use of goat hair to bind the selvages. The colours used are typically blue, brown, beige and tan. This Baluchi hand knotted carpet/rug has a distinctive quality of its own.
