A unique carpet made by the Lesghi tribe in Azerbaijan. It was made by the tribal people of the North East Caucasus in and around Circa 1970, making this about 50 years old. The carpet has a fine wool pile on cotton warps. The colours used are fine natural dyes sourced by the tribal people. The design of the carpet is the typical Lesghi 3 star medallion design, the border has the typical wine glass and leaf motif. The colours used on the rug are red, blue, green, beige, orange and black.
