This timeless hand knotted Persian rug/carpet was made in the city of Qum, Iran, at around circa 1950. The design of the rug/carpet uses the traditional "Boteh" or Paisley motif that is spread in a linear manner throughout the field of the carpet/rug which is white in colour. The border also has this stylized Paisley spread in series. This all over repetition of motifs is a signature of Qum weavings. What sets this rug/carpet apart however is the use of extremely fine and lustrous Koruk wool.
