This beautiful Kashmiri silk carpet/rug has been inspired by carpets made in Tabriz, Iran. It has a rounded medallion at the centre with iris, peony and rose motifs spread throughout the field. These motifs are connected to each other by scrolling vines. The primary colours used on the silk carpet are turqoise, beige and pinkish orange. It is a silk on silk carpet/rug where both the pile and warp are made of silk.
